Overview

Banking on Rosewood Ridge is far more than roleplay handshakes and verbal agreements. The server runs a fully scripted banking system that gives licensed bankers and realtors real mechanical tools: a dedicated loan management menu, automated financial auditing, payment tracking, interest commissions, and a property repossession system for defaulted borrowers.

As a banker, you are both a roleplay institution and an active player in the territory's economy. The decisions you make who you lend to, at what rate, and how you handle defaults have genuine in-game consequences for you and your clients.

Realtor Access

The /bankloan command is available to both Banker and Realtor job holders these two roles share the loan management toolset. Realtors most commonly use it for mortgage and property financing.

Bank Locations

Banks are spread across the territory. Each location has a marked map blip and an NPC bank clerk. Walk up to the clerk and press [G] to open the banking menu.

  • Valentine Bank Central Valentine, main street
  • Blackwater Bank West Elizabeth, Blackwater town centre
  • Armadillo Bank New Austin, Armadillo
  • Saint Denis Bank Lemoyne, Saint Denis financial district

Each bank operates independently with its own accounts. Funds held at one bank are not automatically accessible at another inter-city transfers are possible but carry a fee (see below).

Standard Banking Services

These features are available to all players at any NPC bank clerk:

Cash & Gold

  • Deposit or withdraw cash move money between your person and your bank account
  • Deposit or withdraw gold bars gold can be stored in the bank for safekeeping or liquidated

Safebox (Item Storage)

  • Store items and weapons securely in your personal bank safebox
  • Safebox slots can be upgraded for an additional fee up to a maximum capacity
  • Items stored in a safebox at one city remain stored there; each bank has its own safebox

Inter-City Transfers

  • Transfer funds between your accounts at different bank locations
  • A 10% transfer fee applies to all inter-city transactions plan large movements accordingly
Transfer Fees Are Non-Negotiable

The 10% fee on inter-city transfers is system-enforced. There is no way to waive it. If you're moving $1,000 from Saint Denis to Valentine, $900 arrives. Factor this into large financial arrangements.

Getting Licensed

The Banker and Realtor roles are whitelisted you must apply and be approved before accessing the loan management tools. To apply:

  1. Develop a credible character background

Bankers are expected to bring an educated, professional persona to the server. Former eastern bank employees, trained accountants, or frontier entrepreneurs all work well as backstories.

  2. Submit a job application

Applications are reviewed by server staff. Demonstrate that you understand the financial RP responsibility the role carries and have a plan for how you'll operate.

  3. Once approved, your job is set

With the Banker or Realtor job active, the /bankloan command becomes available to you anywhere in the world you don't need to be physically at a bank to manage loans.

The /bankloan Command

This is the primary tool for all loan activity. Type /bankloan in chat to open the Loan Management menu. The menu has four main options:

  • Give New Loan start the process of issuing a loan to an online player
  • Existing Loans view and manage all active loans you have issued
  • Loan History view the borrowing history of any character
  • Government Ledger Balance check the current balance of the government treasury account
/bankloan Works Anywhere

You don't need to be standing at a bank to use /bankloan. You can open the loan menu, check existing loans, and manage accounts from wherever you are in the world.

Step 1 Auditing a Borrower

Before issuing any loan, the system requires you to audit the borrower first. This is not optional the "Issue Loan" option only unlocks after an audit is completed for that character.

To audit: open /bankloan Give New Loan select the borrower from the online player list choose Audit.

The audit pulls the borrower's full financial picture:

  • Bank accounts balances at every bank location across the territory
  • Total bank assets aggregate of all accounts combined
  • Employment status whether they hold an active job
  • Risk level system-calculated assessment based on their financial profile
  • Loan history past borrowing behaviour, including any previous defaults

Based on the audit, the system generates a set of suggested loan terms:

  • Suggested loan amount
  • Suggested number of payments
  • Suggested payment schedule
  • Suggested interest rate
Unemployed Borrowers Are Flagged

If the borrower has no active employment, the audit will flag this, and the application may be marked as advisable to reject. You can still proceed, but lending to unemployed characters increases your risk of default significantly.

Step 2 Issuing the Loan

Once the audit is complete, select Issue Loan from the same character menu. You'll be prompted to enter the loan parameters:

ParameterDetails
Loan AmountUp to a maximum of $200,000
Payment ScheduleBi-Monthly (every two weeks) or Monthly
Interest RateDefault 5% can be adjusted based on audit risk level
Loan PurposeEnter a reason (business startup, property purchase, equipment, etc.)

Before finalising, a summary screen shows you: Loan Amount, Per-Payment Amount, Schedule, Total Payments, and the Next Payment Date. Confirm to issue.

One Loan at a Time

Each player can only hold one active loan at a time. Before issuing a new loan, any existing loan must be fully repaid, deleted, or otherwise resolved. Check the audit results if they already have an active loan, you'll see it.

Managing Existing Loans

Open /bankloan Existing Loans to see a dashboard of every active loan you've issued. Each entry shows the borrower, loan amount, and a status indicator:

  • Up to Date borrower is current on their payments
  • Defaulted borrower has missed payments; these are sorted to the top of the list

Select any loan for individual actions:

  • View Details full loan breakdown (amount, rate, schedule, payments remaining)
  • Repay Loan mark a manual repayment against the loan
  • Delete Loan remove the loan record entirely (use for forgiven debts or errors)
  • Hide Defaulted Loan remove a defaulted entry from your active view without deleting it

Loan History

Select Loan History from the main menu to pull up any character's past borrowing record. This history is permanent and directly affects the interest rate suggested by the audit system for future loans. A character with a history of defaults will be flagged at a higher rate automatically.

Your Commission

Bankers earn automatic commission on every interest payment made by their borrowers no action required on your part. Every time a borrower makes a scheduled payment:

  • 50% of the interest portion of that payment is credited directly to your character
  • This is deposited automatically it applies whether you're online or offline
  • Each payout is logged to the server's records
Passive Income That Compounds

Every loan you issue is an ongoing income stream. A banker with five active loans at 5% interest collects commission on every payment cycle without lifting a finger. Build your portfolio carefully more loans, more passive earnings.

Repossession

When a borrower defaults, you don't have to write off the loss. The repossession system lets you seize player-owned properties tied to defaulted accounts.

Access it from Existing Loans select a Defaulted loan, then choose Repossess. The system will show you a list of properties owned by that character houses, land, and other registered assets.

  • Select the property you wish to seize
  • The repossession is recorded against the loan
  • Seized properties appear in the Reclamation sub-menu, where you can manage or release them later
Repossession Is a Powerful Tool Use It With Roleplay

Mechanically seizing a player's property without any RP contact first is considered poor form. Always attempt to contact the borrower IC first, give a warning period, and treat repossession as a last resort. This protects you from admin complaints and creates far better storylines.

Treasury System

The territory operates a Government Treasury a central reserve account used to fund law enforcement, civic departments, and government operations. This system is managed via /treasuryadmin and is restricted to server administrators only.

Bankers should be aware this system exists as part of the broader economy government stipends originate from the treasury and flow out to department characters on a set schedule. The treasury account is Account ID 20 in the banking ledger.

Government Ledger Visibility

When you open /bankloan, the main menu displays the current Government Ledger balance. This gives licensed bankers visibility into government liquidity useful context when large territory-wide financial events are happening.

Tips for Bankers

  • Always audit before you lend. The audit data is there to protect you an unemployed borrower with a default history is a bad bet regardless of how convincing their RP pitch is.
  • Use the Loan History feature. Before agreeing to any loan in RP, pull the character's history via /bankloan. Their track record with previous bankers tells you more than their character says.
  • Price risk into your rate. The suggested rate is a baseline. High-risk borrowers should carry higher interest both for your protection and for realistic RP.
  • Stay on top of your loan dashboard. Log on regularly and check the Existing Loans view. Defaulted loans don't resolve themselves a prompt conversation IC often avoids the need for repossession entirely.
  • Build relationships with lawyers and the DOJ. Loan disputes with written RP documentation can become court cases. Having a working relationship with the DOJ means faster resolution when things go sideways.
  • Commission is passive grow your portfolio deliberately. The more responsible loans you maintain, the more you earn on each payment cycle. Quality over quantity: a few solid loans on creditworthy borrowers beat a dozen defaulted ones.
