In Rosewood Ridge, your horse is your lifeline. Every player needs a mount to navigate the territory, haul cargo, or outrun trouble. The Horse Trainer is the licensed professional responsible for acquiring, conditioning, and selling those animals to the community.

This role blends active gameplay — the hands-on work of taming and building horse stats — with the social commerce aspect of matching the right animal to the right rider. Experienced trainers develop a reputation, build a client list, and become a vital service in every corner of the territory.

📋 Getting Licensed

1. Establish your character's background

   A strong Horse Trainer character has a history with animals. Develop your backstory — former ranch hand, cavalry stablemaster, or self-taught frontiersman — before approaching licensing authorities.

2. Apply for licensure in-character

   Approach the government authority or appropriate in-character body and request a Horse Trainer license. The process mirrors that of any other licensed trade on the server.

3. Secure access to a stable

   Work with administration to operate out of an existing stable location in a town. Your stable is your office, your workshop, and your storefront.

⚙ Training Horses

Raw horses acquired at the stable have base stats. Through the training process, a Horse Trainer works to improve those stats before sale:

• Health — how much punishment a horse can take in combat or rough terrain.
• Stamina — how long a horse can gallop before needing to slow down and recover.
• Speed — the horse's top velocity at full sprint.
• Handling — responsiveness to rider commands and stability under pressure.

Training is an active process: walk, gallop, and work the horse through specific routines at the stables. Higher-quality training translates directly into higher sale prices and more satisfied customers.

🧬 Breeding

Advanced Horse Trainers with the right license tier can engage in selective breeding — pairing two horses to produce offspring that inherit combined traits from both parents.

• Some stat combinations can produce horses that exceed either parent — a highly valuable outcome.
• Breeding takes time and isn't guaranteed to produce a superior foal every attempt.
• Selectively bred horses of strong bloodlines can command premium prices from serious buyers — especially law enforcement seeking reliable duty mounts.

💵 Selling Horses

When a horse is trained and ready, it can be sold to another player directly from the stable. The sale records the new owner in the system, and the horse is transferred to their stable slots.

• Each player can own a set number of horses — factor this into your sales pitch. Help buyers understand which horse fits their needs.
• Consult the buyer's intended use: a lawman needs a different horse than a farmer or a courier.
• Consider offering post-sale services — conditioning top-ups, saddle fittings, and coat maintenance — as an ongoing revenue stream.

🏠 Stable Management

Your stable can hold multiple horses simultaneously. Effective management means keeping a rotation of animals at different stages of training:

• Keep a few fully trained animals ready to sell to buyers who need a mount quickly.
• Have others partway through training to maintain a pipeline of incoming stock.
• Track your inventory — know which horse has which stats so you can handle customer enquiries confidently.
